“Yes, I am Erick G. Benson - DTO.” I Defy The Odds. Let's face the hard truth, television and film is no doubt one of the toughest industries in the world to break into. I cannot flow with the norms that most folks succomb to as they have attempted to break into the TV/Film industry. I don't accept "No" as the end, quitting is certainly not an option, and I never stop pursuing my dreams. My creator said that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and I believe that fact.
Who is ERick G. Benson?
Erick G. Benson is a graduate of California State University, Pomona. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications with an emphasis in Television and Film and a Master's Degree in Creative Writing. He also attended film classes at UCLA and studied directing at Hollywood Film Institute.
After college, he worked for the original Family Feud, which featured Richard Dawson, as well as working for the original Love Connection. He also worked for several advertising agencies as well as various radio talk shows.
He has written, produced and directed several stage plays and he is the author of three books. "The Weight-Pile Murder," "Framed Justice," and "It's Time to Make a Living,"
Erick G. Benson wrote and produced a TV pilot featuring the late, great actor, Sherman Hemsley, entitled, "First Cousins & Larry, which was being considered by the CW Network prior to Mr. Hemsley's untimely death. (a clip of the sitcom can be viewed on YouTube). Also, Erick G. Benson wrote and produced a TV project entitled, "Peeves," which featured actor/comedian, George Wallace. The project was being considered by NBC-TV.
More recently, Erick G. Benson wrote and directed a TV project entitled, "Mixed-Mates," a situation comedy.
Currently, Erick G. Benson is in the process of developing his latest television comedy entitled, "Young G (genius that is). The story features a 12-year-old-African-American prodigy.
